Set in Howe Sound (BC), this braided narrative weaves the story of Britannia’s copper mine with present day Squamish and its shift from industry to tourism. Juxtaposing my life with my ancestors’, this collection grapples with our environmental legacy and our ongoing need for resources. Observing the natural, economic, and cultural cycles that repeat across generations, these poems ask, “How do we do things differently, if at all?”
