I am deeply grateful to the Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts for a month-long residency in rural Wyoming. I’ve been walking the trails, practicing my tracking skills in the snow, visiting the local “hobo springs” in Saratoga and learning new words like whistlepig, stack yard, buck rail, and ground blizzard. And writing. I just finished my third poetry manuscript How(e) Sound, only four years in the making. Happy to have a handful of days left to walk, to stare out at the rock formations from my studio windows, and dream of what’s next.
